KUMASI -In a shocking twist that has sent ripples through the New Patriotic Party’s delegate conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, stalwart Sammy Crabbe officially stepped down from the contest to form a powerful alliance with John Boadu.

The move, which many delegates described as the biggest surprise of the conference, has triggered intense speculation across the party’s ranks, with questions emerging over whether a major influence or a big promise forced Crabbe to step aside from the National Chairmanship race for his competitor.

But speaking exclusively to the press moments after the announcement, a composed Sammy Crabbe vehemently shut down the rumours of a backroom deal.

“There is nothing like influence or inducement,” Crabbe declared. “This decision is purely based on close friendship and the leveraging of shared ideals. We have looked at the bigger picture.”

According to him, the alliance is a calculated strategic move to position the NPP strongly for victory in the 2028 general elections.

Political analysts at the stadium said the Crabbe-Boadu alliance could significantly alter the dynamics of the race, consolidating a major voting bloc and creating a formidable front ahead of the crucial 2028 polls.
