Former Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, has broken his silence following his recent reshuffle by President John Dramani Mahama to a new role as Minister of State in charge of President’s Special Initiatives.
In an exclusive interview on Okese FM Morning Show with Worshippa, Dr. Pelpuo stated that he was not shocked by his sudden transfer, describing it as part of the President’s prerogative to realign his team for better efficiency.
Asked about his performance at his old ministry, the former Labour Minister described himself as a highly successful minister.
According to him, during his tenure at the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment, he spearheaded several job creation initiatives in partnership with foreign partners and international organisations, creating thousands of opportunities for Ghanaian youth.
“I did my best. We brought in foreign partners, we created jobs. I can say I was successful at the Labour Ministry,” Dr. Pelpuo stated.
On his new role as Minister of State in charge of President’s Special Initiatives, Dr. Pelpuo expressed gratitude to President Mahama for the confidence reposed in him and promised to do even better in his new assignment.
He assured Ghanaians that he will bring his experience to bear to ensure the President’s special initiatives are successfully executed to benefit the nation.
